Liners of Cone Crusher

During the operation of a cone crusher, the movable crushing wall and The fixed Mortar wall, as key components that come into direct contact with the material, have their service life affected by multiple factors, among which their own quality is of Paramount importance.

High-quality wear-resistant parts not only have requirements for materials but also have extremely high standards for the surface of castings. Castings are not allowed to have cracks, as well as casting defects that affect their performance, such as slag inclusion, sand inclusion, cold shuts, gas holes, shrinkage cavities, shrinkage porosity, and meat deficiency. These defects will seriously affect the strength and wear resistance of the crushing wall and the mortar wall, thereby shortening their service life.

At present, the crushing walls and rolling mortar walls of cone crushers in the market are mostly made of high manganese steel. High manganese steel has unique performance advantages. Under the action of impact loads, its surface can harden rapidly, forming a hard and wear-resistant surface layer, while the inner metal layer can still maintain its original toughness. This characteristic enables high manganese steel to adapt well to the working environment of cone crushers and effectively resist the impact and wear of materials.

The mortar wall and the crushing wall are important components of the cone crusher. Together with the frame, horizontal shaft, moving cone, balance wheel, eccentric sleeve, lower crushing wall, hydraulic coupling, lubrication system, hydraulic system and control system, they form the cone crusher. Inside the crushing chamber, the mortar wall and the moving cone liner cooperate to form a space that is sometimes near and sometimes far. Through the actions of impact, extrusion and bending, the material is crushed.

The main material of the mortar wall is generally high manganese steel, such as Mn13, Mn18, etc., and it is connected and fixed to the adjusting ring through zinc alloy casting. It is a vulnerable part in the equipment. It is mainly applied in the material crushing process of industries such as mining, metallurgy, construction, road building, and sand and gravel aggregates, and is used for crushing materials such as iron ore, copper ore, limestone, and granite.

When the thickness of the moving cone and fixed cone liners wears to 65-80% of their original thickness, or when there is wear leakage, cracking, or the discharge port cannot be adjusted, they need to be replaced. Different solutions such as complete replacement or partial replacement can be determined based on the wear condition. The connection between the mortar wall and the adjusting ring is fixed by U-shaped fixing screws, and zinc alloy is cast in the middle to ensure a tight bond. After installation and after the equipment has been in operation for a period of time, it is necessary to check and tighten the fixing screws to prevent loosening and falling off. The replacement process involves a series of professional steps such as removing the old liner plate, cleaning and preheating the contact surface, casting zinc alloy, pouring concrete, and tightening bolts. It is necessary to ensure that the center is aligned and the combination is firm.
